Eid-ul-Adha 2021: Easy desserts that you can make in a jiffy with limited ingredients

Delicious savoury dishes and desserts are the life of the festival of Eid. Food has become an important part of our celebration and we love to indulge in cooking great meals for ourselves and our family. Eid is one such festival where we spend a lot of time with friends and family and eat tasty food to celebrate together. The delicacies that are prepared on Eid are rich, full of flavours and are cooked with love. Desserts are a must for Eid and a variety of them are prepared with a lot of ingredients and efforts. They help to satiate our sweet cravings after we eat from a rich spread of Eid meals. Sometimes we look for different options or recipes that can be prepared quickly or doesn’t require a lot of ingredients. We have some lip smacking and easy to make recipes for you which you can try

Beetroot Kheer

This Beetroot Kheer is a quick and easy to make sweet dish which you can prepare for yourself or friends and family. This beautiful pink coloured delicious kheer has the goodness of beetroot and just requires readily available ingredients. For making this kheer you will need 1 cup of grated beetroot, 2 cups of milk, 3 tablespoons of ghee, ¼ cup of sugar, 2 tablespoons of condensed milk, 6 crushed almonds and ¼ teaspoon of cardamom powder. To prepare this kheer, boil the milk for few minutes on low heat and keep aside to cool. In a pan, heat ghee and sauté the grated beetroot. Saute it until dry and then add the sugar. Let the sugar mix well with the beetroot and then add boiled milk to the pan. Simmer cook the kheer for 12-15 minutes on low heat, add chopped almonds and cardamom powder and mix. Pour the kheer in serving bowls and serve.

Serradura

Serradura is a pudding from the Portuguese Cuisine and is also a popular dessert prepared in Goa. This is a simple dessert that is made mainly with two ingredients that is Marie biscuits and cream. The crushed Marie biscuits are compared to sawdust and thus, another name for this dessert is ‘Sawdust Pudding’. The ingredients that you will need to make this dessert are 3 cups of cream, ½ cup of sweet condensed milk, 30-40 Marie biscuits and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence. Pound the biscuits in a plastic bag with a rolling pin to crush them into fine crumbs. In another bowl, whip the cream along with vanilla essence and condensed milk until small peaks form. Take a serving glass or bowl and level the layer of cream on the bottom of it. Then add a moderate amount of biscuit crumbs on top of the cream layer. Repeat this process until layers of cream and biscuits fill the glass or bowl. Refrigerate the pudding for 2 hours and serve.

Fruit Cream

This Fruit Cream is the perfect blend of seasonal fruits which will keep you cool and refreshed. This healthy and sweet dish can be prepared in minutes and will taste delicious. You must serve and eat this dessert chilled to experience its sweet and simple taste. The ingredients required to make this quick and effortless dessert are 1 cup of fresh heavy cream, ½ cup of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, ½ cup diced mangoes, ½ cup halved grapes, ½ cubed kiwis, ½ cup diced apples and ½ cup of pomegranate. In a large bowl, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar and vanilla essence until fluffy. Add mangoes, grapes, kiwis, apples and pomegranate into the bowl and combine with whipped cream. Refrigerate the Fruit Cream and serve chilled.
