You won’t win by attacking Buhari, Atiku makes fun of Tinubu

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claimed that Bola Tinubu, the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), had grown frustrated over his inability to halt the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) cashless policy and currency redesign, which will reduce vote-buying and improve the credibility of next month’s election.

 

“The wicked runs when no one is chasing them, but an honest person is as brave as a lion,” the Holy Bible states in Proverbs 28:1, according to Atiku, who said through his Special Assistant for Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu.

 

“Even though the CBN policy affects all 18 political parties, Tinubu is the only one frustrated because his plan to deploy bullion vans and bribe underprivileged voters and security personnel on election day has failed abjectly,” says Tinubu.

He recounted that on the night before the 2019 presidential election, two bullion vans loaded with cash were seen approaching Tinubu’s property on 26 Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi. “Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) petitions were sent in multiple instances, but nothing was done.

“Tinubu attacked the President who doubles as the Minister of Petroleum after being irritated by President Buhari’s refusal to attend some of his dull rallies. It is ironic that the man who once boasted of having single-handedly elected Buhari to office is now frantically trying to preserve what’s left of his failed campaign.
